Previously convicted felon sentenced for possession of loaded firearm

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a firearm charge.

After pleading guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, Christ’Avian X’Zayvia Rayshon Sheard, 19, of Pensacola, Fla., was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison.

According to a United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida news release, on April 2, 2024, Sheard, already a convicted felon, was parked in a vehicle at Sanders Beach in Pensacola. Police say Sheard was in possession of marijuana and a loaded Taurus 9 millimeter pistol.

Sheard’s prior felony conviction is for aggravated assault by threat with a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. This investigation was part of Operation Take Back America, an organizational initiative to scale back violent crime.
