HOUSTON – Despite being smack in the middle of summer months, common colds, strep throat, and COVID are making people sick right now.
LEAGUE CITY
Upper Respiratory Infection, strep throat, and COVID are going around in the League City area, according to MinuteClinic Senior Practice Manager, Linda Moghalu.
KATY
CVS MinuteClinic also said the Katy clinics are seeing a lot of strep throat.
HUMBLE
MinuteClinic Family Nurse Practitioner, Macqualine Triplett, said, “I am mostly seeing allergic rhinitis, rhino-sinusitis viral/bacterial, and streptococcal tonsillitis.”
BAYTOWN
According to the data from Houston Methodist, between May and July, Rhinovirus and COVID were higher than other illnesses like flu and RSV.
The Texas Medical Center and Baytown locations had the highest rates of COVID-19 than other Houston Methodist locations.
CYPRESS
Cypress had the fewest of all cases of illnesses reported within the Houston Methodist system between May and July.
SUMMER TRAVEL
Dr. Mike Ren, Baylor College of Medicine family physician, said, “We have had a good amount of COVID and flu still.”
