Multiple firefighters in Indiana were struck by debris and forced to evacuated when a vaulted ceiling collapsed in a house fire in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
The Indianapolis Fire Department said crews responded to 8354 Union Chapel Road at around 12:37 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a residential fire. They saw “heavy smoke in the sky” prior to arrival, and arrived to find heavy fire on the back deck extending into the main structure of the home.
Only one of the four occupants was home at the time the fire erupted, and she was alerted by “quick thinking neighbors” to evacuate. Fire officials said one occupant was checked at the scene for “slight injury” and transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital…
