CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A new student is making history at Johnson C. Smith University.
Josiah Matthews is enrolling as a freshman at JCSU at just 15 years old. He’s one of the youngest students to enroll at the institution. Josiah was homeschooled by his mother, a JCSU alumna, Dr. Sheikia Talley, and skipped multiple grades at Matthews Intellectual Academy. He will major in computer science this fall. Josiah begins his college trek at JCSU flanked by brothers, twins Zechariah and Isaiah, age 17, who also enter as college freshmen and members of the JCSU marching band.
