Dispatcher guides family through delivery of baby

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) – A 911 dispatcher from the Chagrin Valley Dispatch – Cleveland Heights facility instructed a family through the birthing process after they got a call for a 33-year-old woman in active labor with her second child.

Dispatcher Leah recognized the gravity of the situation and immediately began emergency medical dispatch (EMD) instructions, guiding the family through the incredible process of bringing their new baby girl into the world.

It took just six minutes to deliver the baby after the dispatcher answered the call.

Dispatcher Leah continuously checked on the well-being of both mother and newborn until paramedics arrived…
