‘Trees down everywhere’: Residents compare severe Carlisle storms to 1972 hurricane

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Carlisle area was hit hard by this week’s storms, causing damage and flooding roads throughout the town.

Dickinson College saw trees, branches and other debris scattered across the campus as multiple other streets were shut down due to fallen trees.

“I was at a red light, and my car started to float,” said Jamie Shumberger. “Trees down everywhere, floods on every intersection. It was awful.”…
