Drunk driver gets 13-year sentence for killing 19-year-old in Riverview crash

RIVERVIEW, Fla. (WFLA) — A drunk driver will spend the next 13 years behind bars after causing a four-vehicle crash that killed a 19-year-old at a Riverview intersection last year.

Caleb Green was sentenced Wednesday, July 2, to 13 years in Florida State Prison and 10 years of probation, according to Mike Moore, public information officer in the 13th Judicial Circuit.

A memorial still sits at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue, where, in January 2024, Green ran a red light and slammed into 19-year-old motorcyclist Jeremiah Stone.

Investigators said Jeremiah Stone was pushed into the car next to him and died at the scene. Multiple other people were also injured in the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol determined that Green was under the influence, and he was arrested on a DUI manslaughter charge shortly after the incident…
