Kissimmee City Commission approves forming a Police Advisory Committee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — After years of backlash and investigations into their police department, the Kissimmee City Commissioners voted to unanimously approve moving forward with a Police Oversight Committee.

They’re hoping to bring more transparency between law enforcement and the community.

According to state law, Chief Charles Broadway needs to pick the board members and says the board must consist of five to seven members with at least one member being a retired law enforcement office. None of the others should be an elected official or running for office…
