Warm and humid for the 4th of July

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A very warm and humid day across the area is coming to an end. We will see those humid conditions continue overnight. Some areas could see some patchy fog. Overnight lows will be in the 70s.

As we head into the 4th of July, the majority of the area should remain rain free. A few very isolated showers or a storm will be possible, but most of us stay dry. We will see very warm conditions inland. Highs will be in the mid 90s. Heat index values close to 100. At the coast, a sea breeze will help keep the temperatures in the upper 80s. We should remain fairly clear for those fireworks. Lows will be in the 70s.

This weekend, we will be watching a stalled front off the coast. An area of low pressure is expected to develop on the front. This could gain tropical features. We could see some gusty winds, start on Saturday and last into Sunday. Sustained winds around 15 mph, gusts upwards of 30 mph. Rough surf conditions will be likely. Waves 3-5 ft, with some strong rip currents. Rain will be possible Saturday afternoon into Sunday. Some coastal areas could see up to 1-2″ of rain, with inland areas seeing scattered showers. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s along the coast, and near 90 inland…
