BOISE, Idaho — Recent missing person reports in the Gem State have left Idahoans wondering why certain cases don’t receive an Amber Alert or another type of alert. In response, Idaho State Police are addressing community questions.
Idaho State Police (ISP) said it serves as a statewide megaphone for alert requests from local law enforcement agencies, distributing them to the Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse (IMPC) only after local agencies have exhausted their own resources.
However, an IMPC spokesperson in a news release said it does not “investigate missing person cases.”…
