Police: Man charged after March gas station crash in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been charged for his role in a crash at a Kalamazoo gas station in March, police say.

The man, Eric Johnson, was arraigned on Wednesday on counts of reckless driving causing serious impairment of a body function and operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened March 19 around 1 p.m., when police say Johnson veered off the road and into the lot of a Speedway gas station on South Westnedge Avenue between Kilgore Road and Cork Street. His car hit multiple people, cars and dislodged a fuel pump.

Two men were taken to the hospital after the crash with serious injuries. KDPS says that both men were recovering…
