A tense Thursday afternoon in Village West, Louisville: what began as a routine traffic stop escalated dramatically when 30‑year‑old Christopher A. Morris sped off, abandoning his car—and, alarmingly, his four‑month‑old child—in the back seat.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police signaled Morris to pull over for a traffic violation. Responding instead with revving engine and acceleration, Morris raced away, police say. The chase ended when he ditched the vehicle in a parking lot near Village West Drive and fled on foot, leaving the infant behind — a detail the department shared in a public Facebook post titled “We’re looking for Christopher A.
