Man convicted of kidnapping woman in Southaven, MS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was convicted by a federal jury on Tuesday of interstate kidnapping, interstate domestic violence, and interstate stalking.

Court documents say Omar Charleston, 39, drove to Southaven, Mississippi, to find the victim who was staying at a hotel. When he found her in the lobby, he forced her into her car by hitting her, pushing her, and threatening her.

Charleston then forced her to drive from Southaven to Memphis, where he was later arrested after a struggle with law enforcement…
