North Texas lights up with celebrations for Independence Day

From parades to fireworks, cities across North Texas are going all out for the Fourth of July, offering a full lineup of family-friendly events and patriotic celebrations tonight.

In Arlington, the city is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Independence Day Parade, one of the biggest in Texas. The “Shining Bright Since ’65” Diamond Jubilee parade kicked off this morning with 120 entries winding through downtown. Meanwhile, The Colony’s Liberty by the Lake is keeping the party going all day long with a 5K, rides, live music, and fireworks at the Five Star Complex.

In Dallas, the Dallas Winds will host their indoor “Star-Spangled Spectacular” at the Meyerson Symphony Center—complete with music, hot dogs, and even indoor fireworks. Out in Rowlett, Pecan Grove Park is the place to be, with performances by the Emerald City Band, food trucks, kids activities, and a big fireworks finale…
