JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) seeks to be highlighted again in an annual contest that picks the best-looking police cruiser across the country.
Voting began Monday for the American Association of State Troopers’ (AAST) 12th annual Best Looking Cruiser Contest. It seeks national input on the most attractive state police car nationally. The top 13 cruisers will be featured on the organization’s 2026 wall calendar. The state’s submission received the sixth-most votes nationally in 2024, securing a spot in the AAST’s 2025 calendar. MHP hopes for another strong showing this year.
MHP launches 2025 Independence Day Travel period
Mississippi’s 2025 photo features a seventh-generation Ford Mustang with an MHP signature vehicle wrap. It is parked in front of a Clarksdale mural of the infamous blues guitarist Robert Johnson, who allegedly sold his soul to the devil to be a talented musician. Jim Vision created the mural on the North wall of Ground Zero Blues Club, a staple in the Mississippi Delta located about 150 miles north of Jackson.
MHP chose Clarksdale for another reason. The city was the setting of a blockbuster movie in 2025: “Sinners.” The captivating film drew parallels to the musical saga of Robert Johnson, further highlighting the artistic and cultural influence of Clarksdale and Mississippi on America…
