Arkansas officials set to discuss Grant Hardin’s prison escape with lawmakers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Multiple officials with the Arkansas Department of Corrections and Board of Corrections are set to speak next week at a legislative subcommittee meeting about Grant Hardin’s escape from a north Arkansas prison.

The Charitable, Penal, and Correctional Institutions Subcommittee of the Arkansas Legislative Council’s July 10 agenda says officials will discuss the escape.

Seven witnesses, including North Central Unit Warden Thomas Hurst, Department of Corrections Secretary Lindsay Wallace and Dexter Payne, who oversees prisons for the Corrections Department, are set to discuss parts of the probe into how Hardin walked away from the North Central Unit in Calico Rock in May…
