An officer from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department sustained minor injuries following a crash during a high-speed chase on eastbound Interstate 70, near downtown St. Louis yesterday afternoon. The accident disrupted traffic flow, resulting in the closure of the right three lanes while the scene was investigated and cleared.
According to KSDK, the pursuit began around 3:30 p.m., when officers tried to stop a black Volkswagen Passat linked to multiple shootings. However, the driver of the vehicle refused to comply, instead accelerating away from law enforcement. The chase ended shortly after the suspect’s car suffered a flat tire, at which point the individual fled on foot but was eventually apprehended near Tucker Boulevard and Cole Street, where, a handgun was also recovered.
