OZARK, Mo. (KBSI) — Christian County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Tuohy has filed criminal charges against Garrett Grimm Cleaver in connection with a fatal crash that killed Deputy Sheriff Michael “Mike” Adams and his wife Ashley.
Cleaver, 40, faces two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention resulting in death, one count of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention resulting in physical injury, and one count of second-degree assault.
The charges stem from a June 30 head-on collision on Melton Road near Highlandville that occurred when an eastbound vehicle allegedly driven by Cleaver crossed the center line, striking the vehicle driven by Ashley Adams. Her husband, Deputy Adams, was a passenger.
Both Deputy Adams, 52, and his wife died at the scene. Their infant grandchild was injured and hospitalized…
