First responders warn of river risks after man dies in Boise River

BOISE, Idaho — A 34-year-old man visiting from Phoenix, Arizona, died Monday evening after his inner tube got caught on a tree while floating the Boise River, prompting renewed safety warnings from first responders and local river guides.

Clinton Bieschke was floating with friends when his tube became stuck on a tree near 9th Street, according to Boise Police. People nearby performed CPR until emergency responders arrived and continued lifesaving efforts.
