Maryland man indicted in 2024 DC murder, robbery

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A Maryland man was indicted Thursday for the April 2024 murder of a man in Northwest D.C., according to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.

Tommy Whack, 35, is charged with robbery and first-degree felony murder while armed.

According to court documents, on April 1, 2024, Whack and a co-conspirator broke into the home of Fasil Teklemariam, 53, located at 1360 Peabody Street NW.

Once inside, Whack and the co-conspirator bludgeoned Teklemariam to death by smashing glass bottles onto his head and stabbing him with a knife. They then proceeded to steal his phone, personal papers and other belongings from his apartment…
