Bradenton gets state funds to upgrade stormwater infrastructure

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The City of Bradenton has been awarded $8.3 million from the recently approved state budget to modernize and upgrade stormwater and wastewater infrastructure.

The funding will support the following projects:

  • Lift Station 8 Relocation – $2 million
  • Sanitary Sewer Lining – $750,000
  • Southwest Ward 5 Drainage Improvements – $1.5 million
  • Water Reclamation Facility Equalization Tank – $2 million
  • Water Reclamation Facility Off-line Reject Reuse Storage – $2 million

“This is a historic level of funding for the City of Bradenton,” City Administrator Rob Perry was quoted in a news release.

“Securing $8.3 million in one budget cycle reflects the quality of our project planning and the importance of strengthening systems that protect public health, reduce flooding, and build long-term resiliency for our community.”…
