Lexington man allegedly broke ex-girlfriend’s door down with bike, punched her

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a reported burglary and assault in early June.

A criminal complaint alleged that around 11:30 p.m. on June 1, Brandon Barnett, 32, went to a 330 Newtown Apartment where his ex-girlfriend lived, violating an emergency protective order (EPO) against him.

When the police arrived, the woman claimed that Barnett knocked on the door and asked to get back together with Reyes, who refused. After being denied entry into the apartment, she claimed that he took his bike and repeatedly rammed her door with it, trying to break it down.

Barnett eventually made a hole large enough to crawl through, according to the complaint. He then reportedly grabbed the woman by her arms and squeezed her. Witnesses claimed he also punched her…
