KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — A new law penned by a West Tennessee representative hopes to increase penalties for aggressive drunken driving cases.

Rep. Ron Gant (R- Piperton) wrote HB190, which lowers the blood alcohol content threshold for people to be charged with aggressive vehicular homicide and assault.

As of Tuesday when it went into effect, it will be easier for law enforcement and prosecutors to charge someone for these aggressive crimes, with a BAC of 0.15, rather than 0.20…
