Teenager Dies in Subway Surfing Accident in Queens Amid Rising Urban Thrill-Seeking Dangers

A tragic incident occurred in Queens earlier today when a 15-year-old boy died while engaging in the perilous activity known as subway surfing. According to PIX11 News, the incident took place near the Queensboro Plaza subway station around 2:45 a.m. Police found the teenager unconscious and unresponsive, and despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was declared dead.

The youth was reportedly riding atop a southbound 7 train when he fell onto the tracks. As per a New York Post report, disturbing video footage showed emergency medical services frantically working to save the teen, who was taken out of the subway station on a stretcher covered in blood. He later succumbed to his injuries at Bellevue Hospital, less than an hour after the accident.

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that a young New Yorker has fallen victim to the dangers of subway surfing. Only weeks prior, another teenage boy was critically injured in similar circumstances at an a Baychester subway station in the Bronx, once again casting a tragic pall over the city’s youthful rebellions against the boundaries of urban transport…
