Around 4:20 p.m., Metro Fire responded to 1200 American River Parkway in Carmichael for four people who needed help along the shore. Park rangers are also at the scene. The circumstances behind the emergency are unclear. However, Metro Fire said it has boat crews ready to assist if needed.
