It’s been 45 years since a University of Texas at Austin nursing student was found murdered and raped in Central Texas. Now, Austin authorities are working together to try and finally solve the city’s second oldest cold case.
Last year, police identified 78-year-old Deck Brewer Jr. as a possible link in the murder of Susan Leigh Wolfe. Brewer Jr. is set to appear in court later this August. But until then, Austin police are working with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office “toward a successful prosecution,” the department told MySA.
On January 9, 1980, 25-year-old Susan Leigh Wolfe enrolled at UT’s school of nursing. That same day, around 10 p.m., she was kidnapped in the 200 block of Franklin Boulevard, while walking to a friend’s house to stay the night since her home had been exterminated for roaches, according to APD…
