El Paso man shot by officers facing aggravated assault charges

A man shot by El Paso police officers during an alleged domestic violence incident was released from the hospital and booked into the county jail, authorities said.

Victor Enrique Mariscal, 32, was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Wednesday, July 2, in connection with one count each of aggravated assault against a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and assault causing bodily injury involving family violence, El Paso Police Department spokesperson Stephanie Shields wrote in a news release.
