Entergy Mississippi Donates Over $600K to Help Customers Beat the Heat

JACKSON, Miss. – As scorching summer temperatures drive up energy costs, Entergy Mississippi is stepping in with a $628,000 contribution to support vulnerable residents. The donation, announced during the company’s annual Beat the Heat Day event, will fund utility bill assistance for older adults and customers with disabilities through Entergy’s The Power to Care program.

The support, which includes contributions from employees, customers and shareholders, comes as part of Entergy’s broader effort to provide relief during the hottest months of the year. Alongside financial assistance, the company distributed free box fans and energy efficiency kits at events across Attala, Claiborne, Hinds and Sunflower counties.

“High temperatures in our service area are notorious for causing higher utility bills, which leaves many of our customers struggling to make ends meet,” said Valarie Mabry, public affairs analyst at Entergy Mississippi. “It’s why we’re thankful for our community partners who help us get these important resources to homes in need.”…
