South Plains Flood Threat Today

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – UPDATE 12:58 PM CDT: Showers and thunderstorms will continue across West Texas through the afternoon. Rainfall rates greater than two inches per hour are possible, with total rain amounts of 2 to 3 inches likely with local amounts of as much as 5 inches possible.

Localized flash flooding is ongoing in the region and the slow northward movement of the showers will maintain or increase the flooding potential through the afternoon. Watch for warnings and advisories which may be issued.
