OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Happy 4th of July! It’s been a typical summer day, but a few communities might be impacted by brief showers and storms tonight.
Spotty storms are possible after 7 PM though the majority of our area should stay dry through fireworks time frame. The better chance for storms stays west of the metro mainly in central Nebraska. If you live in Norfolk, Columbus, or York, you have the highest chance of seeing storms during fireworks.
Besides the storms, it’ll be breezy and muggy during the fireworks tonight with temperatures in the 80s/70s and gusts up to 30 mph.
Chances for storms pick up late in the night and we will likely start our Saturday on a soggy note. On and off storms are possible through the day on Saturday with the best chances before 10 AM and again after 5 PM.
One or two of those storms could have gusty winds and some hail with them, particularly in the evening.
Sunday looks better for outdoor activities with a partly cloudy sky and highs in the mid 80s…
