ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Rock River Valley Blood Center asks people to donate blood, saying it desperately needs all blood types.
The blood center, which supplies blood to 14 area hospitals, stresses the importance of donating as the Fourth of July holiday weekend is often a “high-trauma” weekend.
Donation centers will be closed on the holiday, but are open Thursday, July 3 and Saturday, July 5. Donors are encouraged to schedule a donation appointment as soon as possible, walk in to a donor center in Rockford or Freeport or visit a mobile blood drive…
