Hunterdon County woman faces drug charges after Route 22 traffic stop

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A Milford Borough woman is facing multiple drug-related charges after Clinton Township police said she was found in possession of methamphetamine, prescription pills, and syringes during a June 2 traffic stop on Route 22.

Catherine G. Schumacher, 40, was pulled over after a patrol officer observed her white Toyota commit a traffic violation on Route 22 West near Round Valley Access Road, according to Clinton Township Police Chief Thomas A. DeRosa.

During the stop, a second officer noticed signs of narcotics activity inside the vehicle. After Schumacher refused consent to search, a K-9 officer and his partner, Tapko, were brought in to conduct a free-air sniff around the vehicle.
