Jacksonville Community and Police Swiftly Locate Pair Following Suspected Abduction Attempt on Easter Street

In a developing situation last evening, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office used social media to request assistance from the public regarding an incident initially classified as “suspicious.” According to their report, a disturbance occurred in the 1300 block of Easter Street after an ex-boyfriend made repeated attempts to contact his former partner, reportedly leading to an attempt to forcibly remove her from the property. The Sheriff’s Office issued a statementthrough a Facebook post asking for the community’s help in locating both individuals to confirm their safety.

The incident began when 18-year-old Vink Omar was approached by her ex-boyfriend, Elias Armstrong, who allegedly attempted to force her to leave the residence. The situation escalated when Armstrong reportedly broke a window and then appeared to physically grab Omar in an effort to remove her from the scene. A third party intervened and contacted law enforcement; however, by the time officers arrived, both Omar and Armstrong had left the area.
