MPD: Fire starts after fireworks thrown into a store

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A fire started in a South Memphis store after suspects threw fireworks behind the counter, Memphis Police said.

At 1:06 a.m., officers responded to a vandalism in the 600 block of Danny Thomas Blvd.

The complainant told officers that he was checking customers out when he felt something bounce off his shirt and hit the floor…
