Henrietta residents reflect on nation’s past on Independence Day amid national uncertainty

Henrietta, N.Y. — While many communities gather to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, some groups called on neighbors to come together in a time of uncertainty.

“We knew that some folks’ spirits were going to be a little low today,” said Lissa Grunert from Henrietta. “This is a hard Fourth of July for a lot of people.”

She, along with the group “Henrietta Neighbors for Democracy,” came to Hoskins Park to reflect on America’s history and focus on times where groups have struggled, but persevered…
