Tallahassee City Commission to review ICE agreement with TPD

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee City Commission is set to hear an information-only item next month about the Tallahassee Police Department’s agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Last month, Mayor John Dailey joined Commissioners Jack Porter and Jeremy Matlow in a motion to direct TPD to come before the commission and provide an update on the contract. Mayor Pro Tem Dianne Williams-Cox and Commissioner Curtis Richardson voted against the motion.

On Thursday, Porter said that while she is aware Gov. Ron DeSantis has said he’ll use his removal powers against local governments who don’t comply with state law, she believes it is within the commission’s purview to look over the agreement…
