Parade pride on display as Canyon celebrates the Fourth of July

CANYON — Thousands gathered along Fourth Avenue in Canyon on Friday morning, July 4 for the city’s 69th annual Fourth of July Parade, turning the historic downtown into a wave of red, white, and blue. The celebration kicked off with a flyover by a vintage military aircraft, drawing cheers from the crowd as it passed overhead. Families lined the route early with lawn chairs and coolers, cheering as floats, dancers, veterans, and community groups made their way through the heart of town. From candy-tossing kids to classic cars and flag-bearing horseback riders, the parade captured the joy and spirit of Independence Day in the Texas Panhandle.

It was an overcast day with comfortable July weather, making for ideal viewing conditions as the nearly two-hour parade rolled on.
