KRQE Cares Food For Kids collects donations for kids in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas

Your donations make a difference. It’s not a secret that New Mexico is a food-insecure state, and that’s why KRQE Cares Food For Kids was created.

Food for Kids partners with Smith’s grocery stores in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Los Lunas in June and July every year to collect non-perishable food to serve children with food insecurity throughout the summer months. The Albuquerque collection will be donated to the Title 1 McKinney-Vento Program, which assists families that do not have a permanent residence and are struggling financially with food, diapers, etc.

They serve over 4,000 families. The food collected in the Rio Rancho stores will be donated to Storehouse West, which serves the students in Rio Rancho schools. And the Los Lunas collections will be donated to the Los Lunas Schools Student Support Services…
