ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Sandia Peak Tramway is set to make a $20,000 contribution to the Albuquerque Police Department’s K-9 unit as a part of their “Rides for Rebel” initiative.
APD partnered the Sandia Peak Tramway to launch the initiative in honor of Rebel. Rebel died after one of their officers shot and killed him during a chaotic call in May.
The $20,000 comes from online donations and $1 from every tram ticket sold over a two-week period. That money will go toward helping other four-legged officers…
