Spectators celebrate another year of Freedom 4th

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque’s biggest Fourth of July celebration is wrapping up with thousands attending the Balloon Fiesta Park Friday night. The firework show finished Friday night around 10 p.m., and spectators said they look forward to it every year.

“I think it’s beautiful, everybody comes from everywhere, you meet new people all the time, and it’s nice to see everybody come together as a community,” said Elisa McKnight. Festivities kicked off around three this afternoon, and people lined up ready to claim their spots here at Balloon Fiesta Park.

There were several musical performances with country singer Hunter Hayes as the headliner. The celebration had something for all ages, including bouncy castles, rock climbing, and face painting. One family said this is their fifth year at the Freedom 4th show, and the main reason they came is for the fireworks.
