A man is fighting for his life in critical condition following a shooting and subsequent vehicle crash in west Phoenix, detailing a disturbing episode of violence that unfolded on Thursday afternoon. The Phoenix Police Department reports that the incident occurred near 43rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard at around 3 p.m, according to 12 News.
First responders rushed to the scene after being alerted to the crash, upon their arrival, they discovered the man had been ejected from the car and was also suffering from a gunshot wound. The connection between the shooting and the crash remains unclear, as investigations are ongoing. As per 12 News, the victim’s identity has not been disclosed by law enforcement authorities.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower provided some insight into the immediate aftermath, “When officers arrived on scene, they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
