New Philomath School Board members Erin McMullen and Tom Klipfel will become official members Monday at 7 p.m. in a meeting at Philomath High in the Community Conference Room.
The School Board will also perform various routine tasks, such as choosing a chair to replace Rick Wells and settling on a date to hold its monthly meetings.
Elsewhere, the city of Philomath will host a couple of committee meetings that could have some interesting discussions. The Public Works Committee meeting will include discussions on Safe Routes to School projects. At the Finance and Administration Committee meeting, there will be a discussion on whether to change code as it relates to the specifics regarding committees, boards and commissions. Another topic relates to a state-level decision that basically states that any public body (such as a city) cannot provide food and beverages to employees or elected officials unless those items are included as part of official compensation…
