WADSWORTH — Wadsworth’s new K-9 Unit of Officer Zach West and K-9 Ares had their first patrol this week.
West and Ares have taken over the department’s K-9 Unit after the previous K-9, Zoro, retired with his handler, Sgt. Seth Petit, taking on other duties in the department.
As West started his police career, he became more interested in looking for criminals and looking for narcotics. He had access to Zoro, which is where West learned K-9 Units can do more than just sniff for narcotics; they can also help locate missing people and criminals, among other tasks…
