New Lexington restaurants: Biscuits, ramen, ‘Seattle teriyaki’ and so much chicken

Lexington’s restaurant scene is always changing, and summer is a hot time for new openings.

Some of the places cropping up around town are additional locations of concepts we already have, while some are entirely new, and others are restaurants that have moved into new locations.

Here’s what’s opened — and what’s coming soon — in Lexington.

Biscuit Daddies

Biscuit Daddies, 373 Virginia Ave. Suite 130, opened a Lexington location in June with a menu of hearty biscuits, specials including omelets and lunch entrees, after starting with a restaurant in Danville. Open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Umami Ramen & Grill

Umami Ramen & Grill, 836 Euclid Ave. Suite 105, opened in June with a menu of Japanese favorites from the same owner as nearby Omakase Sushi but at a more reasonable price point. It’s open for lunch and dinner, and also has boba and fruit teas. There’s a vegan option on the menu, too. Open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.

Teriyaki Madness

Teriyaki Madness, 1925 Justice Dr Suite 170, opened in June in the Hamburg area with a menu of “Seattle-style teriyaki” Asian fusion bowls. Open for lunch and dinner 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Pollo Azul

Pollo Azul, 503 S. Upper St., opened in late May with a menu of rotisserie chicken with a Latin American flavor in the former pizza restaurant spot near the University of Kentucky campus. Family meals, wraps and pick-your-chopped-protein bowls are also available. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Wing Zone

Wing Zone, 3094 Richmond Rd #180, moved from 580 Eureka Springs Suite A. The locally owned restaurant offers bone-in or boneless wings with a choice of 12 house-made sauces. Another location is open on Southland Drive. Open daily 11 a.m. to midnight.

Wingstop

Wingstop, 384 Woodland Ave., opened in June with cult-favorite dipping sauces to go with boneless or bone-in wings, chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches. Open daily 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Another new location is coming to 1988 Stockton Way by the Publix off Citation Way, joining one on Richmond Road and another at Tates Creek Centre.
