Rhode Island education leaders launch video contest to raise awareness about attendance

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Gov. Dan McKee, Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green, and the Rhode Island Department of Education launched the 2025 Attendance Matters RI Student Video Contest.

This contest challenges all public high school students in Rhode Island to create videos between 30 seconds and three minutes that highlight why being present in school makes a difference for their learning, their future, and their community.
