SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The summer warmth does not make adults and children immune to colds and viruses. In a KUSI interview this week, San Diego pediatrician Dr. Curtis Leong shared timely advice for parents navigating everything from heat exhaustion to unexpected summer sniffles.
Dr. Leong says he has treated a few respiratory illnesses lately, including cases of walking pneumonia, type B flu, and strep throat in children.
“The common cold isn’t just a winter problem,” he said. “Kids and adults can get sick year-round. It is not seasonal.”
