The University of Toledo will open its new pedestrian bridge over Douglas Road Tuesday with a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony outside Savage Arena near the bridge’s western anchor.
The 78-foot bridge will connect UT’s recently renovated engineering complex to the center of its main campus, providing a new option to cross busy Douglas that doesn’t require a long walk to a crosswalk at East Rocket Drive.
Staircases and ramps will provide access on the western side of the bridge, near Savage Arena, and on the eastern side, near Marwood and Westwood avenues…
