Body of missing 22-year-old recovered in Deep Fork River

LUTHER, Okla. (KFOR) – 22-year-old Michael Jaden Ybarra went swimming in Deep Fork River to swim and never came back up. Saturday morning, crews recovered his body downstream.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department is responding to the scene Friday afternoon to locate the missing swimmer.

“We have all the things we need if we were able to see a live victim to get to him we could have got to him, just not the case today,” Major Ryan Hill, Oklahoma City Fire, said.

Turbulent waters created a high risk for crews’ search and rescue efforts, leading them to call off their operation.

“Unfortunately, if we don’t see the risk way out the other benefits of being able to find the victim, It’s just not worth it to put people in the water because we’re going to end up, that type of water, we’re going to end up losing someone else,” Major Hill, said…
