Iowa DNR Seeks Public’s Help To Track Turkey Sightings

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is encouraging residents to report wild turkey sightings during July and August as part of its annual turkey production survey. The survey helps the DNR estimate nesting rates and the success of wild turkey broods across the state. Iowans can participate by recording the date and county of each sighting, noting whether the bird was an adult male or female, and counting any poults, which are young turkeys, that are seen with the adult.
