Essence GU’s Kickback commenced with a performance from New Orleans rapper T9zzy. The “Trip Out” artist led the star-studded concert lineup, followed by Chxrry, Moliy, and KenTheMan. DJ Summer Indigo dominated the stage with vivacious hip-hop and R&B jams that created a welcoming atmosphere for attendees inside the party.
As the Essence festivities continue throughout the weekend, nationwide visitors and Crescent City natives travel near and far to take part in what the Festival of Culture has to offer. Since the empowering four-day event began, the celebration has found a home in New Orleans, Louisiana, following its inception in 1995.
